Snow at Western States: Too Early to Panic?

Squaw Valley just reached over 700" of total snow accumulation for the first time in the resort's recorded history. Is it time for Western States runners to panic?

Squaw Valley’s website recently bragged, “Squaw Valley has just reached over 700 inches of total snow accumulation — something that has never happened in Squaw Valley’s recorded history.” That’s great for skiers, but what about competitors running the Western States Endurance Run which begins at Squaw Valley in just less than two months? Last year was a “snow year” requiring a modified route and well… the chart speaks for itself. Is it too early to panic?
