The Broadway Run Club made it three for three yesterday, running back onto the podium of the Goodlife Fitness Victoria Marathon‘s open team competition. Our top four shaved almost five minutes off last year’s team thanks to Henry Chan’s massive seven-minute PB (they use gun time for scoring, but Henry’s chip time was 2:53:58!) BRC co-founder Bill Corsan, making his first start since Vancouver 2008, said he was having “a cracker of a race” until he had to pull out with a hamstring injury at 35k.
VFAC led the way with a stacked team anchored by Kevin O’Connor, who finished fourth overall and took home top British Columbian and Canadian honours. Teammates Graeme Wilson and Dave Palermo were 7th and 8th overall, while Anne-Marie Madden, fifth woman overall, rounded out their scoring.
Seattle’s Skyline Fitness took second spot led by Skyline Running Club’s assistant coach, Spencer Walsh, who finished sixth overall.
