BMO Vancouver Marathon 2010

The BMO Vancouver Marathon goes this weekend... let the hype begin!

The 39th running of the BMO Vancouver Marathon goes this Sunday, May 2 at 7:30. You’re not registered?!? C’mon! Online registration closes Tuesday at 5:00 pm PST but you can register at the race expo until Saturday at 7pm.

Brian Torrance and his crew at 21one have done a super job at assembling a fast field to ensure that I finish out of the Masters prize money again this year. Check out some of the talent they’ve put together for both the full and the half. Yeah, somehow I made that list…

GOT SPECTATORS?

If you’ve tried to tell your friends and family where you might be at any moment during a marathon, you know how difficult it can be. Marathon clinic member, Edwin Kwong, put together a spreadsheet aimed at taking some of the confusion out of race-day pacing calculations for this weekend’s event with Edwin’s Superfantastic BMO Vancouver Marathon Viewer’s Guide Spreadsheet. The BMO Vancouver Marathon course is marked in kilometres so Edwin has broken down the race, kilometre by kilometre, with approximate geographical reference points to aid runners and spectators. Enter your goal pace time per kilometre — ranging from Fast to Target to Slow — in the yellow boxes across the top and the spreadsheet handles the rest. Check it out!
