Every Day I’m Waffling 26k

The final quarter of the Vancouver Marathon is pancake-flat but a bad race-day pacing strategy can leave you waffling to the finish line.

Every Day I'm Waffling 26k map
Every Day I’m Waffling is a 26k route that includes the final 17 kilometres of the BMO Vancouver Marathon course. Starting and finishing at the Cambie Running Room, the Waffling route hops onto the marathon course at Alma, covers the Kits stretch of the course to Burrard Bridge. From the bridge the route cruises down Pacific and Beach and then drops down the Inukshuk plunge to the path at English Bay Beach. At this point marathoners begin the final quarter of the course. On paper, this final turn around the Stanley Park Seawall is pancake-flat, but bad pacing strategy earlier in the race can make it feel more like a waffle. Covered in syrup. And whipped cream.
